The quadrotor mini helicopter was designed at the GRASP Lab of University of Pennsylvania. The way that it can maneuver through tight spaces is simply amazing. I can imagine many different applications for this invention and only hope that it’ll one day be used for greater good.

Janelle Monae is one styling lady. The choreography and art direction in the video for her single Tight Rope are tip-top perfect. The track which features Big Boi is sonically at home with the retro-soul sounds of Gnarls Barkley and Raphael Saadiq. See her perform the track live on Letterman here.

I’ve just watched two new music videos that I like quite a bit. Both clips explore an odd and unexplained narrative of a rather dark variety. Here is director Pete Riski’s work for Husky Rescue’s track They Are Coming. And here you can see The Space In Between by How To Destroy Angels (aka Trent Reznor and wife), directed by visionary commercial director Rupert Sanders.

I’m always inspired by photographs like these taken by Claire Harlan. The man made environments that are void of people feel like perfect places to stage unexpected scenes to disturb the quiet.

While I’m not sure what to make of the bookending narrative structure to the video for UNKLE’s Follow Me Down video, it is hypnotically beautiful and makes me enjoy the track moreso. Directing team, Warren & Nick were also responsible for creating the album sleeve and packaging imagery which appears to use still frames from the video shoot.
