In this film for Facebook, we dig into the work of Facebook’s Reality Labs and the research they are doing into AR glasses. To bring that research to life we had to work to tell a complex technology story—involving intersecting challenges of ethics, privacy, policy, and function—in a way that was immediately understandable and intuitive. Working with the Facebook team and across both film and 3D work, we demonstrated prototypical experiences that could be had with the glasses, while also illuminating the efforts to wrestle with the ethical challenges of new technology before rolling it out. The film portrays the seriousness and intention that Facebook is bringing to this technological frontier.
