On this track, Matt Berninger’s distinctive voice is paired with lyrics that recall a series of memories of a past relationship. I proposed that we make a video that would visually expand on these feelings in a way that would ring true for the viewer, just as much as the singer. The big idea was to present a visual counterpart in the form of a series of cinematic vignettes that would illustrate closure as a shared cathartic experience.
